Background
- Referred
to as “Bill Gates” of the motocross world, he started his own
web site last season—www.ronronmx.com—and uses it as a tool to
update his fans and sponsors on his racing, daily happenings and
other interesting “behind the scenes” information from the
motocross world. Roncada is a “one man band” for ronronmx.com—the
CEO, designer, webmaster and advertising sales manager—all rolled
into one
- Has
designed his own line of racing gear that will be manufactured and
distributed through his apparel sponsor, O’Neal USA. Roncada will
wear the gear during competition, with multiple designs planned to
debut throughout the season
- Resides
in Menifee, Calif., where he has built a motocross track on the
property for training and practice purposes
- Nicknamed
“RonRon”
Racing Background
- Started
racing in France at the age of five, where he quickly rose through
the amateur ranks
- Won
several amateur championships, including the 1996 Junior French
Championship, before coming to the U.S. to race professionally in
1996
- Displayed
excellent speed and ability in the 125cc ranks early in his career,
placing in the top five in the final point standings three out of
the first four Supercross/Motocross series
in which he
competed
- Had
a breakout season in 2000, claiming the AMA 125cc Eastern Region
Supercross Championship and narrowly missing the AMA 125cc National
Motocross Championship by just two points
- Will
be making his professional 250cc debut with his new team in 2001,
